scoped variable

A scoped variable is a variable whose value is protected and can not be accessed between the time it is set and the time it is retrieved within a process instance. A scoped variable can only be used in a Set Scoped Variables and Get Scoped Variables activity. To use the value of the Scoped Variable, the value must be passed to another variable in a Get Scoped Variables activity.

Scoped variables are useful for protecting data in a parent process from being accessed by a subprocess.
