activity
An activity is a functional unit, or task, in a process-based app. An activity completed by a person is called a human task activity. An activity completed by computer systems without human action is called a system activity.
Many process activities support more than one "action," as the term is commonly used. For example, the Advanced Task activity supports sequential, parallel, and voting approvals. These are considered separate "actions," but they are handled by one "activity." This terminology can be confusing because "action" comes from the low-code development domain and "activity" comes from the business process management (BPM) domain. AgilePoint NX supports both.
In AgilePoint BPMS v5.x and AgilePoint NX Developer, human task activities are called AgileWorks, and system activities are called AgileParts.
