permission inheritance

Permission inheritance is a permissions rule, especially in SharePoint, where the permissions for an item are inherited from the parent item. So, for example, a SharePoint list item inherits its permissions from the list, the list inherits permissions from the site, and the site inherits permissions from the site collection.
