App Owners (permission group)

App Owners manage daily usage, maintenance, and monitoring of the AgilePoint NX apps they own. Different apps can have different App Owners. App Owners are the point of contact for users related to app usage, daily monitoring, managing tasks, and so on. App Owners are also responsible for assigning app level permissions to other users who use the apps, reports, or other extended functionality.

Prerequisites

On the Tenant screen screen, set Enable Application-Level Permissions to Yes.

Good to Know

The App Builder only shows an app if you are a member of the App Owners or App Designers permission group.
App Owners, App Designers, and App Initiators can start an app from Work Center.
In form-based apps, only App Owners and App Designers can access the View form and Update form.

This screen may look different in different places. The UI varies for this screen depending upon how you open it. However, the fields for this screen are the same in all places.

App Owners Permission

App Owners can be assigned at the global level or for an individual app: If App Owners are assigned in Manage Center, they have access to all apps. An AgilePoint NX tenant can have App Owners assigned at both the global level and assigned to individual apps. If a specific app has one or more App Owners, this permission group overrides the App Owners configured in Manage Center. Permissions:

Manage permission groups.
Delete app.
Check in or check out the app on behalf of other users.
Roll back the app version.
View the audit log for an app.
These permissions from App Designers permission group:
- View app.
- Change app.
- Save app.
- Check in or check out the app.
- Publish app.
- Rename app.
- Import app.
- Export app.
- Add, change, and delete application resources.
These permissions from App Initiators:
- Start an app instance.
These permissions from Report Viewers:
- View applicattion data.

How to Start

Permission Groups for All Apps (Manage Center)

Click Manage.
In Manage Center, click App Management > Permissions.
On the Permissions screen, click App Permissions.
On the App Permissions screen, select an app.

Permission Groups for Specific Apps (App Builder)

Click App Builder.
On the App Builder Home screen, click All Apps.
On the All Apps screen, on an app, click Edit .
On the App Details screen, click Permissions .

Permission Groups for Specific Apps (Modern Add an App Experience)

In App Builder, in the Modern Add an App Experience, create an app.

On the Who can access your app? screen, hover over the App Owners permission group, and click Edit .

Fields

Field Name	Definition
Back	Function: Goes to the previous screen.
Search	Function: Does a search based on the specified permission group members.
Add Members	Opens this Screen: Available Members screen Function: Adds the specified users or groups to the App Owners permission group.
Delete	Function: Deletes the selected users or groups from the App Owners permission group. To Open this Field: Select one or more permission group members.
Current Members	Description: Shows the users or groups who are App Owners. Allowed Values: Read only.
Type	Description: Shows the types of members in the App Owners permission group. Allowed Values: Read only.
Delete	Function: Deletes the specified user or group in the App Owners permission group.

Adds members to a permission group.

Audit Log tab

Shows the audit log for permission groups for all apps.

Prerequisites

AgilePoint NX OnDemand (public cloud), or AgilePoint NX PrivateCloud or AgilePoint NX OnPremises v9.0 or higher.

Download	Description: Downloads the audit log for an app as a Microsoft Excel file to your local machine.
Refresh	Function: Refreshes the audit log information.
