Permission Groups, Roles, and Task Participants

This section describes security-related designations for permission groups, roles, and runtime app users, also called task participants.

These types of designations determine who can access apps at various levels of security. In AgilePoint NX, access rights are specifically associated with roles. However, as a more general concept used within the software industry, all of these security-related designations are related to various types of access rights for apps.

Some of these security designations have the same name, but they are assigned at a different level. For example, Application Designers is a role that applies to all apps. App Designers is a permission group that applies to a specific app. How you configure these security designations depends upon whether you want to assign permissions at a global level for your AgilePoint NX environment, or at a level that is specific to access to an individual app or entity.

The table on this page provides the full list of permissions in AgilePoint NX. For more information about configuring permission groups, as well as other related topics, see the topics in this section.
