Fields

Select File To Import

Function:
Specifies a file that contains the picklist to import.
Accepted Values:
  • An XML or JSON file that contains an exported picklist.
  • A Microsoft Excel file that was exported or created as a picklist.

Click the Select A File button to select a file from your local file system.

Default Value:

Limitations:

Support for Microsoft Excel files is available in these releases:

Selected File Type

Function:
Shows the type of file you selected in the Select File To Import field.
Accepted Values:
Read only.
Default Value:
None

Field NameDefinition

Display Name

Function:
Specifies the name that shows for the custom picklist.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.
Default Value:
None

Internal Name

Function:
Specifies a unique, technical name for the custom picklist.
Accepted Values:
One line of text (a string) with no spaces.

When you click this field, the field shows the value you entered in Display Name field with no spaces. This internal name becomes a table name in the database. After you create the Internal Name, you can not change it.

Description

Function:
Specifies an optional text description for the custom picklist.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:

Picklist Item Display Name

Function:
Specifies the column whose values show in the Display Name column on the Picklists > Items screen.
Accepted Values:
A column name from the list.

This field shows the list of column names in the file that you are importing.

Default Value:
None

Picklist Item Internal Name

Function:
Specifies the column whose values show in the Value column on the Picklists > Items screen.
Accepted Values:
A column name from the list.

This field shows the list of column names in the file that you are importing.

Picklist Item Description

Function:
Specifies the column whose values show in the Description column on the Picklists > Items screen.
Accepted Values:
A column name from the list.

This field shows the list of column names in the file that you are importing.

None

Picklist Item Order

Function:
Specifies the column name to sequence how the picklist items show on the Picklists > Items screen.
Accepted Values:
A column name from the list.

This field shows the list of column names in the file that you are importing.

Default Value:
None

Save

Function:
Saves the settings and imports the custom picklist and its associated picklist items.
