Install Analytics Center
To install Analytics Center, do the procedure in this topic
Prerequisites
- Use the Analytics Center v9.0 Installer only in these situations. For all other situations, use the AgilePoint NX v9.0 Upgrade Installer:
- You are upgrading from AgilePoint NX v8.0 to AgilePoint NX v9.0 with Analytics Center, and you did not have an Analytics Center license for v8.0, but you have an Analytics Center license for v9.0.
- You are upgrading from AgilePoint NX v8.0 to AgilePoint NX v9.0 with Analytics Center, and you had an Analytics Center v8.0 license but never installed Analytics Center v8.0.
- You are upgrading to AgilePoint NX v9.0 with Analytics Center from AgilePoint NX v7.0 or lower, and you did not install and configure Analytics Center with AgilePoint NX v8.0
- A license key that includes Analytics Center.
- Before installing any of the AgilePoint components, please make sure each computer meets the hardware and software requirements for your version of AgilePoint. For more information, refer to System Requirements.
- Your firewall rules must permit the port number for Analytics Center.

- Verify that AgilePoint Server and other components, such as AgilePoint NX Portal, for AgilePoint NX v9.0 are installed on your machines. If you are performing an upgrade following a new installation, make sure you have
installed all the components on all machines first before starting the upgrade.

Good to Know
- If you have Report Center (sometimes referred to as AgileReports) installed, installing Analytics Center will not uninstall, overwrite, or change your Report Center installation.
- The installer UI is optimized for system resolutions 1366x768 or 1920x1080 with 100% scaling. If you use other screen resolutions, the installer UI may not display correctly, which can cause installation errors.
How to Start
If your license key does not include Analytics Center at the time of initial installation or upgrade, or you do not want to install Analytics Center immediately when you are installing or upgrading AgilePoint NX, you can install Analytics Center with a standalone installer.
- On the AgilePoint Server machine, open the folder C:\AgilePoint\9.0-Upgrade\Analytics.
- Right-click the Setup.exe file, and click Run as administrator.
- If a supported version of .NET Runtime is not installed, this screen shows.
- Click Close.
- Install the supported version of .NET Runtime.
- Right-click the Setup.exe file, and click Run as administrator.
- This screen shows if an AgilePoint NX installation is running on this machine.
- To resume the installation, click Continue.
- To restart the installation, click Start.
Procedure
- On the Welcome to Analytics Center Installation screen, click Next.
- On the Prerequisites screen, select all the items on this screen.
- Click Next.
- On the Verifying System Requirements screen::
- If there are any errors, do this procedure:
- Click Cancel.
- Correct the errors.
- Right-click the AgilePoint NX Setup.exe file, and
click Run as administrator.
The Analytics Center installation starts.
Issue Resolution AgilePoint Server is Installed
Install AgilePoint Server on this machine.

IIS is available
Install or start an IIS version that is supported by your operating system.
Supported version of .NET Framework is installed
Install a supported version of .NET Framework on this machine.
For more information, refer to System Requirements for AgilePoint Server.
Current user has local administrator privileges
Sign in to this machine as a user with administrator privileges.
- If there are no errors, click Next.
- If there are any errors, do this procedure:
- On the License Information screen, complete these fields:
Field Name Definition User Name
- Description:
- Specifies the first and last name associated with your AgilePoint NX license.
- Allowed Values:
- One line of text (a string).
Accepted:
- Letters
- Numbers
- Spaces
- Default Value:

Organization
- Description:
- Specifies the name of your organization.
- Allowed Values:
- One line of text (a string).

License Key
- Description:
- Specifies your AgilePoint NX license key.
For more information, refer to Obtain AgilePoint License Keys.
- Allowed Values:
- An AgilePoint NX license key.
- Default Value:

- Click Next.
- On the Analytics Center Web site Configuration screen, do one of these:
- If you want to create a website automatically with the information shown on the screen, click I want the Analytics installer to create the Web site.
- If you want to create the Web site manually, click I want to manually create the Web site for Analytics Center, and complete these fields.
Field Name Definition Web Site Name
- Description:
- Specifies the IIS website to use for Analytics Center.
- Allowed Values:
- An IIS website name from the list.
- Default Value:
- None
Port - Description:
- Specifies the port number to comnect to Analytics Center.
- Allowed Values:
- The port number configured for your Analytics Center website in IIS.
When you select the website from the Web Site Name field, the port number associated with the website shows in this field.

Virtual Directory - Description:
- Specifies the IIS virtual directory to use for Analytics Center.
- Allowed Values:
- The virtual directory configured for the Analytics Center website in IIS.
When you select the website from the Web Site Name field, the virtual directory associated with website shows in this field.
- Default Value:
- None
File Path
- Description:
- Specifies the location for the Analytics Center installation folder on your AgilePoint Server machine where the configuration files are stored.
- Allowed Values:
- An absolute file path on your AgilePoint Server machine.
- Default Value:
- None
- Click Next.
- On the AgilePoint Server and Portal Information screen, complete these fields:
Field Name Definition AgilePoint Server Instance
- Description:
- Specifies the name of AgilePoint Server instance.
- Allowed Values:
- AgilePoint Server instance name.
- Default Value:
- AgilePoint Windows Service
Portal URL
- Description:
- Specifies the AgilePoint NX Portal Instance URL.

Analytics Base URL
- Description:
- Specifies the URL for Analytics Center in your environment.
- Allowed Values:
- An AgilePoint Analytics Center URL.

AgilePoint REST Service URL
- Description:
- Specifies the REST URL for your
AgilePoint Server instance.
For more information, refer to Find your AgilePoint Server Instance REST URL.
- Allowed Values:
- [Your AgilePoint NX Portal URL]/AgilePointServer

The domain name for the production environment changes based on the configuration of your environment. For more information, refer to Find your AgilePoint Server Instance REST URL.
Domain
- Description:
- The authentication domain for the AgilePoint Service Account.
- Allowed Values:
- One line of text (a string) with no spaces that represents an authentication domain in your environment.
- Default Value:
- None
User Name
- Description:
- Specifies the user name for your
AgilePoint Service Account.
This is the same AgilePoint Service Account you entered for the AgilePoint Server installation.
- Allowed Values:
- One line of text (a string) that represents a user name for an account with the required privileges detailed in Set Up the AgilePoint Service Account.
- Default Value:
- None
- Limitations:
- During installation, you must use the same AgilePoint Service account credentials for all AgilePoint systems. However, for security purposes, AgilePoint recommends you change separate these account credentials after installation.

Password
- Description:
- The password for the AgilePoint Service Account.
- Allowed Values:
- An alphanumeric string that represents a password.
- Default Value:
- None
- Click Next.
- On the AgilePoint Analytics Configuration screen, enter the connection information for your Analytics Center database.
Field Name Definition Database Type
- Description:
- Specifies the database technology to store your data.
- Allowed Values:

Windows Authentication
- Description:
- Specifies whether the database connection uses Windows authentication.
- Allowed Values:

- On - The database connection uses Windows Authentication, and the
machine's authenticated user connects to the database server.
If this option is selected, the User Name and Password fields are not required.
- Off - The database connection does not use Windows authentication.
If this option is selected, you must specify the user name and password for the authentication account AgilePoint Server uses to connect to the database.
- On - The database connection uses Windows Authentication, and the
machine's authenticated user connects to the database server.

User Name
- Description:
- The user name for the account Analytics Center uses to connect to the database.
- To Open this Field:

Database Server
- Description:
- Specifies the server name and domain for the AgilePoint database.
- Allowed Values:
- An alphanumeric string with no spaces that represents a database server name.

- After you enter the database server, click Connect to authenticate the database user account and populate the names of the databases.
- On the Database Location section, enter this information for
your Analytics database.
Field Name Definition Create New Database / Use Existing Database
- Description:
- Specifies whether to create a database for Analytics Center.
- Allowed Values:

- Create New Database - Specifies the name of a database to create for Analytics Center.
- Use Existing Database - Specifies the name of an existing database you want to use for Analytics Center.
- Default Value:
- Create New Database
New Database Name
- Description:
- Specifies the name of a new database you want to create
as your
Analytics Center database.
This option is only available if your database is installed on the same machine where you are installing this component.
- To Open this Field:

Database
- Description:
- Specifies the name of an existing database you want to use for Analytics Center.
- To Open this Field:

- Select Use Existing Database.
- Click Connect to populate the list.
- Allowed Values:
- A database name from the list.
- Default Value:
- None
- Click Next.
- On the Deployment screen, click Deploy.
The Analytics Center installation runs. If any error messages shows on the screen, you can use the log messages to troubleshoot the errors. If an error exists, contact AgilePoint Customer Support.
- After the installation completes, click Next.
- On the Finish screen, click Finish.
