Why Does the DataServices Service Fail to Start?
Symptoms
The Data Services service fails to start on the AgilePoint Server machine.
Good to Know
- This issue can have more than one cause.
- You can check the error or warning messages in the event logs and service logs may provide information to help troubleshoot the issue.
Dependencies Not Met
Cause
The Data Services service might depend on other services or components that are not running or not properly installed.
Resolution
Ensure that all dependencies are met before attempting to start the service. For example, the AgilePoint Windows Service must be running for Data Services to start.

License Expired
Cause
The AgilePoint NX license that includes the license for Data Services has expired.
Resolution
Update your AgilePoint NX license.

Incorrect Configuration
Cause
Data Services may not start if it is not configured correctly.
Resolution
Check the configuration settings and ensure they are correct and match the requirements.

Insufficient Permissions

The user account that runs the service may not have the necessary permissions to start the service.
Resolution
Use the AgilePoint Service Account to run the Data Services service.
Corrupted Files
Cause
