How Do I Use Active Directory with AgilePoint NX?
To integrate on premises Active Directory with AgilePoint NX, do the procedure in this topic.
Prerequisites
- AgilePoint NX OnPremises or AgilePoint NX PrivateCloud.
- Active Directory installed in an on premises environment.
- Your AgilePoint Service Account is a member of your Active Directory domain.
When you install AgilePoint Server, you must specify that your AgilePoint Service Account belongs to an Active Directory domain. To do this, during installation, on the AgilePoint Server Configuration screen, in the Does domain use Active Directory? field, click Yes.
For more information, refer to Install AgilePoint Server.
The Service Account has other requirements. For more information, refer to Set Up the AgilePoint Service Account.
Good to Know
- AgilePoint NX only synchronizes Active Directory groups you have defined in the AgilePoint system.
For more information, refer to ADSyncModule Extension.
- If you synchronize users and groups from Active Directory to AgilePoint NX, it is important to note that the groups that are synchronized are Active Directory permission groups. The permission group concept in AgilePoint NX is similar to a security group in Active Directory. Other types of Active Directory groups, such as distribution list groups, are not synchronized with AgilePoint NX.
- Synchronization is a one-way process where data flows from Active Directory to AgilePoint. Users added to AgilePoint are not synchronized to Active Directory.
For more information, refer to ADSyncModule Extension.
- To help you track and troubleshoot issues, the Active Directory AgileConnector has exception handling logs, and notifications. For more information, refer to:
