Encrypt Password Utility

To create an encrypted version of a password with the encrypt.bat utility, do the procedure in this topic.

Prerequisites

• AgilePoint NX PrivateCloud, or AgilePoint NX OnPremises v9.0 or higher.

Good to Know

• The Encrypt Password Utility can be used as a convenient way to encrypt a string. Passwords entered in these locations are automatically converted and stored in encrypted format:
  • AgilePoint Server Configuration Utility > System tab - AgilePoint Service Account password.
  • Manage AgilePoint NX Portal Configuration Utility screen - AgilePoint Service Account password.
  • SSL Management Utility - PFX certificate passphrase.

Procedure

• On the AgilePoint Server machine, open this folder:

  (NX Portal installation folder - v9.0 and higher) C:\Program Files\AgilePoint\AgilePointPortalInstance\tools\windows

• Right-click the file encrypt.bat, and click Run as administrator.
• In the command prompt, enter the password to encrypt.
• Click Enter.

  The encrypted password opens in the default text editor, usually Notepad.
