Users, Groups, Roles, and Access Rights

Security permissions in a tenant are organized accrorging to users, groups, roles, and access rights.

  1. In the Manage Center, do one of these:
    • Click Access Control Access Control icon > Users.
    • Click Access Control Access Control icon > Groups.
    • Click Access Control Access Control icon > Roles.

Users

Individaul user accounts in AgilePoint NX.

In AgilePoint NX OnDemand (public cloud) all AgilePoint NX users have an with AgilePoint ID, even if they authenticate through an external authentication provider. However, users sign in with their AgilePoint IDs only if they use native AgilePoint as their authentication provider.

In AgilePoint NX OnPremises or AgilePoint NX PrivateCloud, users do not have AgilePoint IDs. Their user IDs are assigned through an authentication provider, which may be a third-party service, such as Salesforce, or a company Active Directory. The one exception is the NX Portal Administrator, whose AgielPoint ID is created by default during installation.

Groups

Groups of AgilePoint NX users.

Roles

Sets of access rights that can be associated with users or groups.

Access Rights

Individual permissions in AgilePoint NX. Access rights can be associated with groups or roles.

Tenant Administrator Role

Each AgilePoint NX tenant has one user with the tenant administrator role.

Good to Know

  • Only the AgilePoint System Account can change the tenant administrator role in the Portal.
  • The tenant administrator has all permissions in the Portal.

Administrator

Specifies the user who has the tenant administrator role for your tenant.

You can specify only one administrator for the tenant.
