Application Designer (Entity Designer, Page Designer)

Application designers develop and enhance the AgilePoint NX apps over their lifecycle. Like application owners, different apps can have different application designers. They would work alongside application owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to design and develop the business applications as per requirements. These users are also responsible for working with a configuration management team to move apps and the corresponding data entity, access tokens, shared variables from one environment to another.

An AgilePoint NX app can have more than 1 application owner and it can have more than 1 application designer. The application owner can also be an application designer, but this is not required.

Permissions for Application Designers, Entity Designers, and Page Designers

An application designer is a user or group who can change an application in the App Builder.

An entity designer is a user or group who can design an entity by adding and deleting entity fields and relationships in AgilePoint NX Data Entities.

A page designer is a user or group who can design a page by adding and deleting columns, rows, and widgets. They can also check out, check in, edit, save, preview, publish, and rollback a page. The members of page designer security group can also create or change menus and CSS in AgilePoint NX Page Builder.

Application Designer
Function:
An application designer is a user or group who can change an application in the App Builder.
Permissions:

These permissions apply to a specified form-based app or process-based app:

  • Create application.
  • Edit application.

Entity Designer
Function:
An entity designer is a user or group who can design an entity by adding and deleting entity fields and relationships in AgilePoint NX Data Entities.

Entity designers have entity-level permissions that are specified by their record security groups for the entity.

You can assign the entity designer role for all entities in the Manage Center.

These permissions apply to a specified entity:

  • Create fields.
  • Delete fields.
  • Create relationships.
  • Delete relationships.

Page Designer
Function:
A page designer is a user or group who can design a page by adding and deleting columns, rows, and widgets. They can also check out, check in, edit, save, preview, publish, and rollback a page. The members of page designer security group can also create or change menus and CSS in AgilePoint NX Page Builder.

Page designers have page-level permissions that are specific for a page.

You can assign the page designer role for all pages in the Manage Center.

  • Save page.
  • Preview page.
  • Publish page.
  • Roll back page.
  • Create and edit menus for page.
  • Create and edit CSS snippets for page.
