Additional Required Upgrade Tasks for AgilePoint NX v8.0

After you run the Upgrade Installer for AgilePoint NX v8.0, you must complete some additional upgrade tasks. The exact tasks depend upon your system configuration and the availability of Software Updates.

The order these tasks are listed is important. AgilePoint recommends you complete each task in the order shown in the table, if the task applies to your AgilePoint NX system.

Users:

  • Who selected to manually install the On-Premises SharePoint Integration component in the Upgrade Installer.

This task is for users who want to install the SharePoint Integration component using PowerShell commands, instead of running the AgilePoint NX Installer on their SharePoint server machines.

(Optional) Manually Upgrade SharePoint Integration with PowerShell

Users:

  • Who have the Report Center component installed

Report Center (sometimes called AgileReports) is deprecated in AgilePoint NX v8.0, and replaced by Analytics Center. If the Report Center component is installed in your environment, and you have a a valid license key, you can install the Analytics Center component during your upgrade. You can use your Report Center license for Analytics Center.

If you are completing the upgrade procedure in the order it is shown in this document, you may have already installed Analytics Center. However, you can install Analytics Center at any time, independent of the upgrade.

Install Analytics Center

Users:

  • Who have Analytics Center installed
  • Who have SSL or TLS configured for AgilePoint Server

If AgilePoint Server is configured to use SSL or TLS in your envioronment, and you install Analytics Center, you must configure Analytics Center to use SSL or TLS.

(Optional) Configure SSL or TLS for Analytics Center

Users:

  • Who want AgilePoint services to start automatically when the AgilePoint Server machine starts

In your environment, the AgilePoint Server instance or Data Services service is usually set to restart automatically, but you set the service to disabled to run the upgrade installer.

How Do I Configure an AgilePoint Service to Start Automatically, Or Not?

Users:

  • Who are upgrading from AgilePoint NX v6.0 or earlier
  • Who use the AgilePoint On-Premises SharePoint Integration component

Occasionally, new configuration settings are added to the AgilePoint Configuration List in SharePoint Integration. These configuration settings are not automatically added to the AgilePoint Configuration List in SharePoint, so they must be added manually. No new configuration list items have been added since the release of AgilePoint NX v6.0. If you are upgrading from a version of AgilePoint NX or AgilePoint BPMS v6.0 or lower, you may need to add or change the settings for your AgilePoint Configuration List.

It is highly recommended to install any Software Updates and Hotfixes that have been released since the initial release of v8.0. However, this is not strictly required, unless you encounter a bug that was fixed in one of these releases. Also, if you upgrade to v8.0 soon after the initial release, there may not be any Software Updates or Hotfixes available.

The upgrade installer does not prompt you to enter a license key for AgilePoint NX. After the upgrade installer runs, you must follow this procedure to replace your license key.
