Authentication, Active Directory and Kerberos

AgilePoint supports Microsoft Active Directory for authentication or non-Windows authentication. If AgilePoint is using Active Directory authentication, Active Directory server calls a domain controller assigned to the same site as AgilePoint Server. If AgilePoint uses non-Windows authentication, Active Directory is not required.

Kerberos is a computer network authentication protocol that allows nodes communicating over a non-secure network to prove their identity to one another in a secure manner. It is not an additional component. It is there by default on Windows. Kerberos is one of way to solve double-hop authentication issues that are common in n-tier applications environments.
