Configures the SAP Connector to connect AgilePoint NX with your SAP system.

Prerequisites

How to Start

  1. Click Start > All Programs > AgilePoint SAP Connector.
  2. Right-click SAP Connector Configuration Utility.
  3. Click Run as administrator.

Fields

Field Name Definition

Import Configuration

Function:
Uploads an exported SAP Connector configuration file from your local machine, and adds it to AP Connector Configuration Utility.
To Open this Field:
  1. On the AP Connector Configuration Utility screen, click Tools.

Export Configuration

Function:
Downloads the SAP Connector configuration file in XML format.
To Open this Field:
  1. On the AP Connector Configuration Utility screen, click Tools.

Renew Public/Private Keypair

Function:
Refresh your key to connect SAP server to get the latest Public or Private key pair or certificate that is required for connection.
To Open this Field:
  1. On the AP Connector Configuration Utility screen, click Tools.

Connection Pool

Function:
Specifies the connection pool for the SAP system.

The first time you set up the SAP AgileConnector, you must select one of the default connection pools, and then configure it for your system requirements.

Accepted Values:
A valid connection pool out of the 50 available.
Default Value:
None

Activate

Function:
Specifies whether to make the connection pool active. If a connection pool is active, it shows in the Pool ID field when you configure an access token for SAP.
Accepted Values:
  • Selected - Shows the connection pool in the Pool ID field for SAP access tokens.
  • Deselected - Does not show connection pool in the Pool ID field for SAP access tokens.

Description

Function:
Specifies a description for the SAP connection pool.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.
Default Value:
A description for the connection pool you select in the Connection Pool field.

Destination String

Function:
Specifies IP address or host name of the SAP server and the system number of the SAP server.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.
  • ASHOST - IP address or host name of the SAP server.
  • SYSNR - The system number the SAP server.
Default Value:
ASHOST=?? SYSNR=??
Example:
ASHOST=myorganization.com SYSNR=01

System

Function:
Shows the system name of the SAP server when the validation is successful.
Accepted Values:
Read only.

Connection Mode

Function:
Specifies how AgilePoint connects to the SAP database.
Accepted Values:
  • Shared & anonymous - Connects to SAP as an anonymous user with the credentials specified in the SAP Credentials field.
  • Shared w/ Authentication - Connects to SAP with the credentials specified in the SAP Credentials field.
  • User - Connects to SAP with the credentials of the user who completes the task. You can use the Secure Credentials Secure Credentials icon form control in your eForm to get the user credentials.

Client

Function:
Specifies the SAP client number.

You can get this from your SAP administrator.

Accepted Values:
An integer.
Default Value:
None

User

Function:
Specifies the SAP user name to use for authentication.
Accepted Values:
A valid user name.
Default Value:
None

Password

Function:
Specifies the SAP password.
Accepted Values:
A valid password.
Default Value:
None

Language

Function:
Specifies the language abbreviation for your SAP language.
Accepted Values:
A valid 2-letter ISO language code.
Default Value:
EN

Pool Size

Function:
Specifies the maximum and minimum number of parallel connections that can connect to the SAP system.
Accepted Values:
An integer.
  • Max. - The maximum number of parallel connections that can connect to the SAP system.

    The largest permitted maximum pool size is 10.

  • Min. - The minimum number of parallel connections that can connect to the SAP system.

    The smallest permitted minimum pool size is 1.

Default Value:
  • Max. - 1
  • Min. - 1

Validate

Function:
Makes sure the connection pool configuration is correct.

Save

Function:
Saves your SAP configuration.

Refresh

Function:
Updates the information on the screen.

Start

Function:
Starts the SAP connection service.

Stop

Function:
Stops the SAP connection service.

Restart

Function:
Restarts the SAP connection service.
