Find a User

To find a user, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. In the Manage Center, click Access Control > Users.
  2. On the Users screen, click Search .

Procedure

  1. On the User Search screen, complete the fields ​as necessary.
    Field Name Definition

    Search by Name

    Function:
    Finds the users for the specified full name or user name.
    Accepted Values:
    • Selected - Finds the specified full name or user name.
    • Deselected - Does not find the specified full name or user name.
    Default Value:
    Selected

    Full Name

    Function:
    Specifies the user's full name.
    To Open this Field:
    1. Click Select by Name or Advanced.
    Accepted Values:
    A text string that can contain spaces.
    Default Value:
    None

    User Name

    Function:
    Specifies the user name.
    To Open this Field:
    1. Click Select by Name or Advanced.
    Accepted Values:
    A user name, with the domain name, in this format:

    [domain]\[user name]

    Default Value:
    None

    Clear

    Function:
    Sets the fields on the search screen to their default values.

    Search

    Function:
    Does a search based on the specified options.

    Search by Manager

    Function:
    Finds the users for the specified manager.
    Accepted Values:
    • Selected - Finds the users for the manager.
    • Deselected - Does not find the users for the manager.
    Default Value:
    Deselected

    Manager

    Function:
    Specifies the user's manager.
    To Open this Field:
    1. Select Search by Manager or Advanced.
    Accepted Values:
    The user name of the manager.
    Default Value:
    None

    Search by Department

    Function:
    Finds the users for the specified department.
    Accepted Values:
    • Selected - Finds the users for the department.
    • Deselected - Does not find the users for the department.
    Default Value:
    Deselected

    Department

    Function:
    Specifies the user's department.
    To Open this Field:
    1. Select Search by Department or Advanced.
    Accepted Values:
    A text string that can contain spaces.
    Default Value:
    None

    Advanced

    Function:
    Searches the users based on the advanced search criteria.
    Accepted Values:
    • Selected - Does a search based on the advanced search options.
    • Deselected - Does not do a search based on the advanced search options.
    Default Value:
    Deselected

    E-mail Address

    Function:
    Specifies the user's e-mail address.
    To Open this Field:
    1. Select Advanced.
    Accepted Values:
    A valid e-mail address.
    Default Value:
    None
  2. Click Search.
