Custom Configured Stencils (My Stencil)

Envision users or administrators can modify the properties of an AgileShape, and then share them with other Envision users using a special stencil called My Stencil. Envision administrators can make the properties for shapes in this stencil read-only if desired.

A common use for this feature is a system administrator creating complex configuration settings for an AgileShape, where the settings are common to many users within an organization. The administrator sets up the configuration, and then shares the stencil. Business users then need only to add the shape to their process models to implement the organizational standards.

For the most part, the behavior for sharing AgileShapes in Envision is the same for sharing any shapes in Microsoft Visio. The main functionality that Envision has added are:

• Support for sharing AgileShapes, along with preconfigured properties
• Support for setting all properties collectively to read-only
