Installing the Evaluation Software

Prerequisites

  1. Prepare an evaluation machine that meets the minimum Prerequisites.
  2. Obtain the evaluation license keys.
  3. Download the AgilePoint Evaluation installation package to your evaluation machine.

Navigation

  1. On your evaluation machine, open the AgilePoint installation package.
  2. Identify a destination folder, and click Unzip. The installer launches.

Instructions

  1. In the AgilePoint installer, on the License Keys window, enter your license keys for AgilePoint Server and AgilePoint Envision, and click Next.
  2. On the Requirement List window:
    1. Verify your machine meets the minimum Prerequisites.
    2. Ensure the prerequisite software is working properly.
    3. If any of the required components are not installed, install them.
    4. Select I have prepared the required info and installed the required software components.
    5. Click Next.
  3. On the Verify Installation Requirements window:
    • If there are any errors, correct them. Once you have resolved the issue, click Recheck.
      Issue Resolution

      Windows 2008 R2.

      Install and activate Windows Server 2008 R2.

      Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 is installed.

      Install and activate IIS 7.0.

      Microsoft Visio 2007 or 2010 (32-bit).

      Install and activate Microsoft Visio 2007 or 2010 (32-bit).

      SharePoint Server 2010

      Install and activate Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010.

      Microsoft Forms Server 2010.

      Install and activate Microsoft Forms Server 2010. This is required only for use with InfoPath. If you are not using InfoPath forms, you can ignore this warning.

      SharePoint 2010 Administration Windows Service is started.

      Start the Windows Service SharePoint 2010 Administration.

      SharePoint 2010 Timer Windows Service is started

      Start the Windows Service SharePoint 2010 Timer.

      SharePoint Command Line Administration Tool exists.

      Install the SharePoint Command Line administration tool, STSADM, to the following location:

      • SharePoint 2010 - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\BIN\stsadm.exe

      Disable User Access Control (UAC)

      Turn user access control (UAC) off.

    • If there are no errors, click Next.
  4. On the AgilePoint Service Account window, complete the following fields, and click Next.
    Field Name Definition

    Username

    The domain and user name you want for your AgilePoint Service account.

    Example: MyDomain\JohnDoe

    Password

    The password you want for your AgilePoint Service account.

    Database Server

    The name of your database server.

    Example: mydb.com

    For simplicity, the AgilePoint Evaluation version assumes you have only one database server instance on the machine, that you are using a standard port number, and you are using Windows authentication. If these assumptions do not apply to your system, you can configure your system as required once the evaluation installation is complete.

    Database

    The database you created for AgilePoint.

    Click the Ellipses to retrieve the list of databases on your database server. Then select your database from the list.

    SMTP Server

    The name of your SMTP server.

    Example: smtp.myserver.com

    This server will be used to send and receive email from AgilePoint.

    AgilePoint BPMS uses this server to send and receive emails in your AgilePoint processes.

    By default, AgilePoint BPMS uses anonymous SMTP. However, you can set up AgilePoint server to use a specific SMTP account once the installation is complete. For more information, see Configuring an SMTP Account.

    Administrator Email

    The email address for your system administrator.

    AgilePoint BPMS uses this account for system notifications.

  5. On the Welcome window, click Next.
  6. On the License Agreement window:
    1. Review the license agreement.
    2. Click I accept the terms of the license agreement.
    3. Click Install.

      AgilePoint BPMS installs. This can take 30 minutes or longer, depending upon the speed of your machine.

  7. When the installation is complete, click Next.
  8. On the configuration window, click Next.
  9. On the activation window, click Next.
  10. Once the product is activated, click Finish.
  11. Select your SharePoint installation type, and click Next:
    • Automatic Deployment (Single Server) - Installs AgilePoint SharePoint Integration with no intervention required from you.

      If you select his option, a list appears with all the SharePoint web applications on your machine. Select the SharePoint web application where you want to install AgilePoint components.

    • Manual Deployment (SharePoint Farm) - Does not install SharePoint. You will need to install SharePoint manually later. For more information, seeManually Installing SharePoint Integration.
    • Skip - Does not install SharePoint. You will need to install SharePoint manually later. For more information, seeManually Installing SharePoint Integration
  12. If you deployed SharePoint Integration automatically, a status window appears. When this is complete, click Next.

    If you did not deploy SharePoint automatically, skip this step.

  13. Once the installation is finished, you can complete the following next steps:
    • Activate AgilePoint Envision.
    • To download and install the AgilePoint Demo Envirionment, click Demo Installer. See the Demo installer documentation for more information.
  14. Once you have finished, click Finish.
