Configure a Human Task (eForms) Activity to Use Offline Forms

All Human Tasks (eForms) activities have the same general options. To configure these options, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the App Explorer screen, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the eForms tab.

        Open eForm tab
      2. On the eForms tab, drag one of these activity onto your process:
        • Start Task (eForms) Start Task icon
        • Standard Task (eForms) Standard Task icon
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. On the Task Configuration screen, do one of these:
  4. Click General Configuration General Configuration icon.


  1. On the General Configuration screen, in the Display Name field, enter the name you want to show in your process. This name also shows in the participant's task list.
  2. In the Priority list, select the importance of the task.
  3. (Optional) In the Description field, enter more than one line of text description for your activity.
  4. (Optional) In the Time to Complete section, set the allowed time limit for your task.

    If a task takes more time than you specify, it goes into Overdue status. A task shows as Overdue in the participants' task list. You can also set more actions — send an email notification, for example.

    Set your limit as a number of time units — for example, 2 hours or 3 days.

    1. In the time units list, select your time unit — for example, Days, Hours, or Minutes.
    2. In the Enter the Variable field, enter your number of time units. For example, if you enter 3, the activity will expire in 3 Days, Hours, or Minutes, as you specified in the time units list.

      You can use Process Variables screen for this value.

    3. To set a limit on your expiration to your hours of operation, select My Organization's Business Time.
  5. To make the eForm available in the offline mode, select Enable Offline Capability.
