To change one or more records in a database table, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the App Explorer screen, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Database tab.

      2. On the Database tab, drag the Update Record activity onto your process.

    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. Click Update Record Update Record icon.


  1. On the Update Record screen, in the Database list, select your database access token.

    To create a new access token, click Create Add Token icon. For more information, refer to Access Token for Database.

  2. (Optional) In the Schema list, select your database schema.
  3. (Optional) If you want to include the synonyms in the Table Name list that is created in the database, select Include Synonyms in the list Include Synonyms in the list icon.
  4. In the Table Name list, select the name of your database table or synonyms.

    When you select the table name or synonyms, the Column Name shows the name of the column.

  5. (Optional) In the Condition (SQL Formula) field, enter the SQL WHERE clause that tells which database records to change. You can also drag the column name from the Column Name list, similar to using a process data variable.
  6. In the Columns and Data section, in the Column Name field, enter the name of the column or drag the column name from Column Name list.
  7. In the Column Value field, enter your column value or drag a process data variable from the Process Data screen.
  8. (Optional) Click Create Create icon to add a new row to add a variable or value.
