Change the Data in an InfoPath Form

To change an InfoPath form in SharePoint, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Application Explorer screen, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, go to the Activity Library, and open the SharePoint SharePoint icon tab.
      2. On the SharePoint SharePoint icon tab, drag the Update InfoPath Update InfoPath icon activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. Click Update InfoPath Update InfoPath icon.


  1. On the Update Info Path Configuration screen, in the SharePoint field, select your SharePoint access token.

    To create a new access token, click Add Token Add Token icon. For more information, refer to Access Token for SharePoint.

  2. In the Site list, select your SharePoint site name.
  3. In the Form Library list, select the form library with your InfoPath form.
  4. (Optional) In the Folder Name list, select your folder.
  5. In the InfoPath File Name list, select your InfoPath form.
  6. Complete these fields.
    Field Name Definition

    InfoPath XPath Name

    Specifies the name of the XML data element of the InfoPath form to set a new value.
    Accepted Values:
    A valid data element in the XML.
    Default Value:
    Accepts Process Data Variables:


    The new value for the XML data element of the InfoPath form.
    Accepted Values:
    A value that is valid for the InfoPath field or SharePoint column.
    Default Value:
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
  7. (Optional) Click Add Add icon to add more than one InfoPath XPath name and value.
