Licenses Separated from Hardware

AgilePoint product licenses are abstracted from hardware and the registry. This has several benefits.

Multiple Licenses on One Machine

AgilePoint BPMS now supports multiple AgilePoint licenses for a single component on one machine.

Previous releases supported only one AgilePoint license per component per machine.

Upgrade Hard Drives without Changing Licenses

Because licenses are no longer connected to hardware, hard drives and other hardware components can now be upgraded, and even hot swapped, without changing licenses.

Multi-Tenant Licenses Can Be Pre-Activated

The abstraction form the hardware is achieved by using a license activation code. This code is available only for new installations that use consolidated AgilePoint Server and Clustering Server Manager (CSM). In a multi-tenant environment, licenses can be pre-activated, rather than using the post-installation license activation process.

Implementation

The license abstraction is handled by an activation code storied in the configuration files for AgilePoint Server.
