AgilePoint Clustering Server Manager Requirements

This section provides minimum system requirements for the AgilePoint Clustering Server Manager component of AgilePoint BPMS. The recommended requirements for this component can vary based on the intended usage of the product.

AgilePoint Clustering Server Manager (CSM) is a software component that enables AgilePoint Server to operate effectively in a network load balanced (NLB) or failover environment. Below are some important notes about AgilePoint CSM:

• The AgilePoint CSM enables AgilePoint BPMS to work with NLB, but it is not NLB software.
• The AgilePoint CSM is required if you are installing multiple AgilePoint Servers in an NLB cluster. If the AgilePoint CSM is not installed, technical issues occur — for example, duplicated work items.
• NLB environments may require specific hardware, software, or operating system options that are not covered in the AgilePoint BPMS System Requirements. For more information, see your network system administrator.
• Clustering requires each of the AgilePoint Server's in the cluster to be activated using a separate "Clustered" license key. Clustered license keys are different than regular production license keys. For more information, contact AgilePoint Support.

This section describes the requirements specifically for AgilePoint BPMS. The exact specifications for how NLB is implemented vary from one environment to the next. For example, some environments use a hardware-only solution, some environments use a software-only solution, and some environments use a solution that combines hardware, software, and operating system. Your organization's NLB configuration falls within the scope of requirements for your internal environment. Those requirements are outside the scope of AgilePoint BPMS in particular. AgilePoint does not provide implementation or consulting for setting up NLB in your environment — only for implementing the AgilePoint Clustering Server Manager component.

The AgilePoint CSM component is installed on each AgilePoint machine in your environment. This section provides system requirements for this component that are in addition to, or supersede, the base requirements for AgilePoint Server.
