Why Does an Error Occur When I Open the AgilePoint Server Configuration Utility?

Symptoms

To reproduce this issue, do the following.

1. Install AgilePoint Server.
2. Open the AgilePoint Server Configuration Utility.
3. The following message appears: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: url"
4. Click OK.
5. The Configuration Utility does not open.

Cause

The 32-bit version of AgilePoint Server was installed on a 64-bit machine.

The AgilePoint Server.dat file is placed in the folder C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Ascentn. This means that even if you uninstall the 32-bit AgilePoint Server and install 64-bit version, the issue will persist.

Resolution

1. Uninstall 32-bit AgilePoint Server from the machine.
2. Manually delete the file AgilePoint Server.dat from the following folders:
   • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ascentn
   • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Ascentn
3. Disable UAC, and use Run as Administrator option to reinstall 64-bit version of AgilePoint Server.
