Receive "Physical Directory of SharePoint Was Not Found" Error During SharePoint Integration Installation with Host Header

Symptoms

Received an exception from the SPS Integration configuration "Physical directory of SharePoint was not found" when installing SPSIntegration in a SharePoint Server with host header.

Cause

When using the host header, the logical name is used when accessing SharePoint. However, the SharePoint SPI used in the installation program looks for the actual Physical directory of the SharePoint which is recorded using the machine name during the initial SharePoint installation.

Resolution

Follow these steps to install the SPSIntegration to a SharePoint Server with host header setting:

• Temporarily remove the SPS host header from the IIS setting
• Install the AgilePoint SPS Integration
• Once the installation completed, put the host header back for the SPS
• You will also need to modify the registry for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ascentn\SPSIntegration\SharePointUrl to point to the right URL with host header.
