Opening an InfoPath Form Causes SOAP Errors in Event Viewer

Symptoms

Attempting to open an InfoPath form from the AgilePoint task list fails and results in the following event log entries in the Windows Event Viewer:

1) Soap error: One of the parameters supplied is invalid.

2) Soap error: Loading of the WSDL file failed.

3) Soap error: XML Parser failed at linenumber 0, lineposition 0, reason is: Access is denied.

Cause

This may be caused because the client system running InfoPath is not able to successfully call web services on the AgilePoint Server and/or the SharePoint server the form is associated with.

Resolution

Here are some suggestions that may help resolve the above error:

• Verify that the "APWS" path is one of the "Excluded Paths" in the SharePoint server's site configuration. (See the related articles below for instructions on how to do this.)
• Verify that the "[SharePointServerDomain]/APWS/AgileParts.asmx" web service can be accessed from the client by browsing to the URL from IE.
• Verify that the "[AgilePointServerDomain]/AgilePointServer/Workflow.asmx" web service can be accessed from the client by browsing to the URL from IE.
