Why Do I Receive a Slow Script Error when I Open the Documentation Library?

Symptoms

When opening the AgilePoint Documentation Library in Internet Explorer, some users receive the following error: "Stop running this script? A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive."

Causes

This issue seems to be caused by the way JavaScript method calls are handled in Internet Explorer. This is only an issue in Internet Explorer, and only on certain machines. The exact causes are unknown, but a more detailed analysis is in progress from the third-party vendor who supplies this script.

Solutions

There are several possible workarounds and fixes for this issue:

• Workaround 1 - Access the Documentation Library in a web browser other than Internet Explorer. This issue does not occur in Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari.
• Workaround 2 - When the error appears in Internet Explorer, click No repeatedly until the script fully loads - usually 3 or 4 times.
• Fix - Apply FIX 10.0001 from the Intermediate Fixes document on the AgilePoint Support Portal.
