Create a Form-Based Application with a Database Table

To create a form-based application that uses a database table as its data source, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. Click Build Apps .


  1. On the Application Type screen, select Form Based Application.

  2. Click Next.
  3. On the New Application screen, complete these fields:

    Field Name Definition

    Application Name

    Specifies a name for your application.
    Accepted Values:
    One line of text that can have spaces.
    Default Value:


    Specifies the language for your application.
    Accepted Values:
    A language from the list.
    Default Value:
    Accepts Process Data Variables:

    Application Description

    An optional description for your application.
    Accepted Values:
    More than one line of text.
    Default Value:
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the Select Primary Data Source screen, select Database .

  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Database Configuration screen, click the Configuration tab.

  8. On the Configuration tab, in the Data Source Name field, enter the name for your database repository.
  9. In the Database list, select your database access token.

    To create a new access token, click Add Token . For more information, refer to Add Global Access Tokens > Database screen.

  10. In the Schema Name list, select a schema associated with the specified database.
  11. In the Primary Entity Name list, select a database table that you want your form to collect data.
  12. Click the Fields tab.

  13. On the Fields tab, select the database columns you want your form to contain.
  14. Click the Related Entity tab.

  15. On the Related Entity tab, select the related entities you want your form to contain.
  16. Click Finish.
  17. On the eForm Builder screen, configure your form as necessary.
