How Do I Use the Default Database for My Trial Account?

Each trial tenant for AgilePoint NX has a SQL Server database you can use to store and retrieve data for testing and evaluation. To access this trial database, you must create an access token.

To create an access token for the trial SQL Server database, do the procedure in this topic.

Prerequisites

  • An AgilePoint NX trial account.
  • You must have at least one table in your database.

    To access the database to create the table, refer How Do I Access the Default Database from My System?.

    The video shows an example of how to create the database table. For more information, refer to Microsoft documentation.

  • To get the connection string for your trial database, go to Settings > Tenant Settings > Custom Databases > Database Connection String.

    Example:

    server=10.1.21.115;database=ADMIN_7F2D404AB8F5403FB3046705487129C3_CUSTOM_DB_EVALUATION; uid=TrialUser;password=s$8B9E!d-zA3

    10.1.21.115 - This is an internal IP address, and it is used to connect to a trial database from within AgilePoint.

How to Start

  1. Click Manage Manage icon.

  2. On the Global Access Tokens screen, click Add Token Add Token icon
  3. On the Add Global Access Tokens screen, select Database Database icon.
  4. Click Next.

Procedure

  1. On the Add Database Access Token screen, in the Token Name field, enter the unique name for your connection to the Database.
  2. In the Database Type list, select SQL Server.
  3. In the Database Server Name field, enter the value of the server from the trial database connection string.

    For the example connection string:

    server=10.1.21.115;database=ADMIN_7F2D404AB8F5403FB3046705487129C3_CUSTOM_DB_EVALUATION; uid=TrialUser;password=s$8B9E!d-zA3

    Enter:

    10.1.21.115

  4. In the Database Name field, enter the value of the database from the trial database connection string.

    For the example connection string:

    server=10.1.21.115;database=ADMIN_7F2D404AB8F5403FB3046705487129C3_CUSTOM_DB_EVALUATION; uid=TrialUser;password=s$8B9E!d-zA3

    Enter:

    ADMIN_7F2D404AB8F5403FB3046705487129C3_CUSTOM_DB_EVALUATION

  5. In the User Name field, enter the value of the uid from the trial database connection string.

    For the example connection string:

    server=10.1.21.115;database=ADMIN_7F2D404AB8F5403FB3046705487129C3_CUSTOM_DB_EVALUATION; uid=TrialUser;password=s$8B9E!d-zA3

    Enter:

    TrialUser

  6. In the Password field, enter the value of the password from the trial database connection string.

    For the example connection string:

    server=10.1.21.115;database=ADMIN_7F2D404AB8F5403FB3046705487129C3_CUSTOM_DB_EVALUATION; uid=TrialUser;password=s$8B9E!d-zA3

    Enter:

    s$8B9E!d-zA3

  7. To make sure the specified access token is correct, click Test connection.
