How to Start

  1. On the Application Explorer screen, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Dynamics CRM Dynamics CRM icon tab.
      2. On the Dynamics CRM Dynamics CRM icon tab, drag the Add Note (Dynamics CRM) Add Note icon activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. On the Add Note Configuration screen, click Add Note Add Note icon.

Procedure

  1. On the Add Note Configuration screen, in the Dynamics CRM field, select your Dynamics CRM access token.

    To create a new access token, click Add Token Add Token icon. For more information, refer to Access Token for Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

  2. In the Entity Name field, select your entity name.
  3. Complete these fields as necessary.
    Field Name Definition

    Note Title

    Function:
    Specifies your note title.
    Accepted Values:
    One line of text that can have spaces.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes

    Parent Entity ID

    Function:
    Specifies the ID of the entity associated with your attachment.
    Accepted Values:
    A record internal ID.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes

    Note Body

    Function:
    Specifies the content of your note.
    Accepted Values:
    More than one line of text.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes
  4. (Optional) To store the note ID as a process data variable, add the variable from the Process Variables screen to the field Store the Response Note ID in Custom Attribute or Schema.

    Function:
    Specifies the variable that stores the note ID.
    Accepted Values:
    A process data variable that accepts an alphanumeric string with no spaces or special characters.
    Default Value:
    None
